JOSHUA HAS NOW SOLD $1,192.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you spell scholarship? OOOOOOOOOOOOhhh Yeah!!!!!!!

So Very Proud Grandma

Joshua's Popcorn Sales

Joshua has told us that his goal this year is to sell $2500 worth of popcorn. At that point Trail's end Popcorn will give him a scholarship with a percentage of this year's sales going into it. Every year hereafter 6% of whatever he sells will go to his scholarship fund. He wants to be an eagle Scout.

Last night was the first meeting that the Scouts starting turning in their popcorn sheets. As incentives to keep selling, the top seller selects a really good prize.

And this week's winner is (you are hearing a drum roll)

Joshua Finley (Webelos I) $1,024

He also filled up a sheet for a Bow and Mallow.

Joshua selected the book "One small Step" by Astronaut Buzz Aldrin Apolo 11 Lunar Module Pilot. Everyone was coming to him to look at it. He thinks it is great.

I was announcing the winner, but before I could get his name out of my mouth, I started to choke up, and tears were welling up in my eyes. I had to tell the group 'excuse me for just a second or two'. I think I said that twice. Don't know what in the world everyone must have been thinking. Anyway, I said his name and the amount he sold. Kellie told me that people's mouths dropped open. there was a big round of applause.

It was a very proud moment. Love that boy!

A friend is moving

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning how to dance in the rain."

A group of us from high school keep in touch after graduating 41 years ago. Gosh, typing it makes it seems like a life time ago. Oh, of our friends sent a mass email to us saying that she would be moving to Alabama to be close to her grandson and family. She ended the email with the above quote. Don't know what's going on, but I wish her lots of kisses (no matter how much slobber is involved) and so many hugs from her grandson.

Scout Popcorn Trail's End Popcorn

Joshua, my grandson, is selling popcorn again this year. The funds raised by selling popcorn will help provide activities, awards, outings and other Scouts. Some of our Scout families are financially challenged. The money will also help purchased uniforms for those Scouts.

The Scouts will celebrate their 100th year in Scouting in 2010. That right there says something for the organization.

If you should like to buy popcorn, it would be greatly appreciated if you would buy from Joshua. For the first time in Scouting history, you may buy online. Please email us at for Joshua's I.D. number. You won't be sorry you purchased Trail's End Popcorn.

And we thank you.

Joshua 'popper'

These pictures are Joshua in his 'popper' hat.

A couple of the boys wore their hats to school today. Everyone had a terrific time last night.

Popcorn Kickoff for our Pack

We are so crazy.

Here we are, Popcorn Fans, with our Popcorn Hats! Kellie, my daughter, and I are coordinators for our pack's popcorn sales this year. We are, using Scouting terminology, Popcorn Kernels. Last night was the kick-off for our pack with popcorn, flyers, prizes and ton of information for the parents/Scouts and entertainment. Kellie spoke while myself and the 'poppers' (four Scouts) distributed snacks and the flyers. We all demonstrated the do's and don't of selling door-to-door and Show and Sell. Kellie and I made the Popper's hats and her hat. The big kernel is from Scouting. Kellie's fingers are still healing from the hot glue gun. We have doubled our pack membership and are looking forward to an exciting year.

Yours in Scouting,
