Yesterday and the day before we cleaned our garage. Okay, honestly it started in February or March. We were really just trying to rearranging boxes and a few tables and bikes, etc. This was done in the name of Scouting. Well it had to be done anyway, but we really had to make room for something for the Scouts. We did toss out stuff that we had saved for decades (literally) and 'discovered' items that we thought had been lost forever. Items that used to be worthy of ownership no longer held that title. I mean really...how much longer should we hold onto that broken headband? My daughter and I both have short hair now. And those HUGE barrette bow things that really weren't even in style when they were new. We have opened boxes (keep in mind that we were just going to rearrange) that have both my grandsons pictures in them and other relative pictures. And then we go 'oooooh and aaaaah' every time we discover something precious and adorable and then decide that it must be kept at any cost. Yes, fellow bloggers, we save A LOT. I like to go through every box and then determine what needs to be saved. I don't like to go through her boxes. I might throw out something that is sentimental to her and I might decide that it is no longer needed. She did considerable rearranging of everything! Trash was thrown away, boxes were broken down for recycling and clothes were donated (again). I am proud to say that we are actually able to walk through the garage with room to spare on each side. We have always had a walkway from the downstairs door straight out through the garage, but now we have at least a six foot wide walkway.
Now the Crossover Bridge for the Scouts will have a new home in our garage.
